A BIT ABOUT ME
I grew up in Malvern on the Herefordshire/Worcestershire border and still spend much of my time there.
When I left school I started out nursing at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children before training as a primary school teacher.
These days I am a full time writer of books for children and adults and I love visiting schools to encourage young writers to make their stories sparkle.
5 FACTS about me that you might find interesting.
I love watching rugby - especially the England Women’s XV (Go Roses!) and manage a team of brilliant U16 girls.
I adore animals and dream of moving back to a farm one day.
I can tap dance!
My surname - Poels - originally came from The Netherlands although I am yet to visit the country of my ancestors.
I love brussel sprouts, hot chocolate and pizza (not together though) but can’t stand really stinky cheeses!
